Sometimes the best sessions have a theme, it gives me an idea of your style and how the photos should look. So this weeks inspiration is the 1950′s, but obviously with a modern twist!
For September I’m running a cutest kids contest. The winner will receive a Custom Photography session (worth £75) and a full set of 7×5 prints (worth over £250).
Simply send in your favourite photos of your kids, I’ll post them on my website and I’ll also post them on my Facebook page where everyone can vote for their favourite. The child with the most votes on 25th September will win the session.
So here are the first couple of kids – you vote for them on facebook by “liking” them!

Firstly can I thank everyone who got in touch to offer their kids for the tshirt modelling, I was overwhelmed by the response.
Unfortunately I couldnt choose everyone and in the end, I was limited to 3 kids, as there are 2 other photographers doing the photos too. The three kids chosen were Max, Jack and George and these are the T-shirts:
I think the tshirts are great and can’t wait to do the photoshoots.
To make up for the fact that I couldnt include everyone, I’m offering a special offer to everyone who got in touch. I’m going to run a mini session at a reduced price of £25 (usually £75). For that you’ll get:
- 30 minute photo session
- 8×10 photo of your choice
- 10-15 photos in a private gallery
The location will depend on the response but will take place on a saturday afternoon in a park! Simple.

www.nameart.co.uk is a really cute website selling personalised t-shirts, canvas’s, plaques, cards and aprons. I’m going to be taking some photos of their personalised t-shirts for their website in the next couple of weeks, so I really need some children to model the T-shirts.
The photos will be in my usual style, simple, and natural with an emphasis on the kids having fun and obviously showcasing the wonderful designs.
What I’m looking for:
Boys & girls age 2 -12 years
Babies: 0 – 2 years
What you’ll get:
- A personalised T-shirt for your child that you get to keep – Usually priced £20
- A 7×5 photo from the session
- The chance to buy more photos taken on the day, from an online gallery (ideal for christmas presents)
Location
This will be decided nearer the time, but could possibly be my garden… but more likely somewhere like Temple Newsam in Leeds.
When
This will depend on the response but will probably be Saturday 11th September at 2pm and at intervals throughout the afternoon. (should last about 15- 30 minutes per child)
Clothing
The children need to be wearing blue jeans without writing or embroidery
Plain coloured shoes/trainers/pumps/sandals (though if weather permits it will be barefoot)
Hair needs to be simple – no hats/headbands etc which might detract from the t-shirts
Important info
The only thing that we have to insist on is a signed model release form, which will state that the photos can be used by Maryanne M Photography & Name Art, & appear on their respective websites.
So if you’re interested in a free photoshoot (usually valued at £75), a free T-shirt and photo, then get in touch (even if you’ve had a session before – kids change so quickly!). Oh and dont forget to visit www.nameart.co.uk to see their lovely designs.

Just a quick post today, I’ve just finished editing the photos of Darcey and just love this one. The session with Melanie, Joe and Darcey was one of my favourites. We went to a beautiful park in York and spent a lovely couple of hours getting lots and lots of shots!
